Closing Out: A Brief Review of 2017

Mark Gunter - Self Portrait - Closing Out 2017

Closing out 2017, things are good with Anything But Ordinary. After well over a year of complete silence, I finally sat down to upgrade the software behind the blog. In so doing, of course, I lost the previous work. In theory, I could recover it all, but with all that life has thrown at me, it simply wasn’t worth the effort. So, here we are.

This year has found me working closely with several local businesses from Be Amazing Talent to Woven Life. As usual, my bread and butter has been headshots for business professionals, models, actors, authors, and more. I enjoyed a variety of work from model portfolios to engagement parties. One of my favorite jobs was photographing some wonderful jewelry for Felicity Jewelry Designs. And, who can forget the always enthusiastic Nate G?

I cannot thank my clients, both corporate and private, enough for their support. There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes for this part-time professional. You have been kind and generous in every way. Your biggest impact, however, is that you give me purpose. I strive to make you happy with the end product. While I definitely do this to keep you coming back, it also keeps me going. You help stoke the fires that keep me fired up and trying to one-up myself each and every shoot. Thank you!

In closing, this is the 18th post since Halloween. Two posts a week, every week, really doesn’t seem all that hard. That is, unless you’re the one doing the writing! I have no shortage of things I would like to talk about, but while this is my blog, it is your attention span that ultimately matters. If you are reading this, I hope you will take a moment to leave a comment. I would love to hear your thoughts on what you would like to see on ABO down the road.

Sincerely,

– Mark Gunter
